My baby is a toddler! I cannot believe how fast this last year has flown by. EJ should still be a tiny baby to me!
I have been planning her party since before she was born. I wanted it to be at Liberty Park and have had my reservation for the Pavilion since March 1. So imagine my surprise when my dad calls me at 9:00 pm the night BEFORE her party to tell me that Liberty Park is closed due to an OIL SPILL! I was freaking out. Luckily I called the after hours number provided to me when I made the reservation and they told me we would still have access to the pavilion, we just wouldn't be able to go to the pond.
It was such a cold afternoon that the dress I bought EJ to wear had to be all covered up with a jacket. It started to rain while we were eating and then the weather got sunny and warmer just as we were leaving.
Jason and I took the Tuesday off work to celebrate her actual birthday with her. We went to breakfast at one of our favorite breakfast places, The Park Cafe, then headed off to Hogle Zoo. We had a lot of fun. We rode the train and the carousel. EJs favorite animals were the Elephant and the Giraffe. She got all excited and started squealing and shaking her arms and legs when she saw them. We bought her a stuffed giraffe at the gift shop and she wouldn't let it go! She just kept hugging the neck.
I cannot begin to say how much I enjoy being her mommy! She has brought so much happiness to our family. She is so loving, always giving hugs and kisses. I still look at her and cannot believe she is mine! I am so lucky to be her mom! I love you Emily Jane, Happy Birthday!
